Education Curriculum Administrator (Temporary)

This is a temporary assignment expected to last 4 weeks or more.
General Summary: Under the general direction of the Program Training Manager, the Curriculum Administrator is an articulate and experienced early childhood educator who has the passion for nurturing, inspiring and developing young children in their quest to become next generation leaders. The Curriculum Administrator is responsible for creating and implementing the approaches and theories proven to be developmentally and age appropriate for young children that meet program school readiness goals, curriculum mandates of the State of California Department of Education, the Federal Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework and the Head Start Program Performance Standards (HSPPS).
Successful candidates will need the following:
Must have a B.A. in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or related subject.
Must hold a California Commission on Teacher Credentialing Child Development Teacher permit or higher.
3-6 units of adult supervision and administration in Child Development/Early Childhood Education preferred.
Must have 3-5 years of experience training an evidence based curriculum.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) capabilities desirable.
Must have use of an automobile with adequate insurance coverage and a valid California Driver's License with an acceptable driving records substantiated by a copy of DMV records.
Must have required fingerprint, Child Abuse Index, T.B. and Health clearances.
Ability to maintain cooperative, diplomatic working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, families, and the community to work as part of a team, and collaborate with colleagues.
Must have computer knowledge with experience in data entry, MS word and excel.
Must have experience in training and mentoring for professional staff development.

You will have the opportunity to:
Curriculum
Train, observe, review, and evaluate staff performance using the designed curriculum. Establish curricula objectives for program; develop and coordinate plans for implementation and evaluation. Coordinate and conduct training for program staff in curricula implementation and make recommendations for ongoing training and professional development opportunities to impact child outcomes.
Assess curriculum effectiveness in meeting the needs of individual children. Coordinate the review/ assessment of current curricula to ensure that the intended objectives and state standards are met. Conduct informational discussions with staff regarding implementation of the developmental curricula for the individual classrooms. Lead informational sessions with parents explaining the center's developmental curriculum in order to raise the quality of curriculum implementation.
Assists staff with implementing appropriate teaching strategies for children based on educational theory; ensures activities are interesting, age appropriate and engaging provides on-line technical assistance and support to teachers and teachers assistants
Using various forms of data make recommendations to evaluate the effectiveness of the designated curriculum to ensure that it continues to impact child outcomes over time.
Assists school staff with ways of assessing and fulfilling special needs of young children; provides instructional strategies and various tools (plans and materials) to aid in the instructional process; observes teachers and provides valuable feedback to continue to improve curriculum implementation.
Observations
Support with the development, evaluation, and implementation of new and current policies and procedures for the area of Education. Assist with the design and implementation of monitoring tools to be used for Education.. Develop and maintain well-defined lines of communication and professional boundaries collaborating and establishing effective working relationships with center staff and education supervisors.
Assist teaching staff in implementation of curricula by conducting regular classroom observations and providing strategies for developmentally appropriate activities for each child in all developmental areas. Establish effective communication and collaboration with all Head Start/Early Head Start program areas to ensure the comprehensive delivery of program services is incorporated into curricula and classroom activities. Implement ongoing feedback to Center Directors, Education Supervisors and classroom and program staff using reflective supervision practices.
Ensure Head Start Program Performance Standards (HSPPS) and program policies and procedures put forth by Child Care Resource Center Head Start are being adhered to. Provide monthly activity reports to Education Manager to determine how services are being implemented at center level.
Coaching
Curriculum Administrator will serve as a coach for teaching staff using the Collaborative Coaching Partnerships Practice Based Coaching Model, the Curriculum Administrator (2) will coach Teachers each.
To strengthen professional development and training for all staff, the Curriculum Administrator will use a strengths based teaching practice assessment tool with staff needing intensive individualized coaching to impact child outcomes and to ensure high-quality services are provided to all enrolled children.
Curriculum Administrator will provide coaching to all teaching staff 0-5 HB/CB using the Collaborative Coaching Partnerships Practice Based Coaching model during the fall and spring.
Data (CLASS Scores, DRDP Scores, HOVRS & PIWI etc.) will be used to determine the Curriculum Administrator coaching caseload for coaching and the overall training and technical assistance plans for staff which includes but is not limited to 23 hours of professional development annually.
Curriculum Administrator will engage in ongoing communication with their mentee, feedback will be provided to the mentee immediately following an observation, the Curriculum Administrator and mentee will meet to reflect and the Curriculum Administrator will communicate the strengths that were identified during the observation. The mentee will identify their strengths and one area of improvement. Together the Curriculum Administrator and mentee will develop goals and an action for a future visit.
The Curriculum Administrator will debrief with the supervisor for each mentee prior to the end of each coaching session. The Curriculum Administrator and Supervisor of the mentee will have regularly scheduled meetings so that the coach can share strengths (only) from each coaching session with the supervisor of the mentee in order for supervisors to continue to work with their staff to continue to build on staff strengths
Curriculum Administrator will monitor the effectiveness of the coaching provided to assigned staff through the use of aggregated child assessment data such as but not limited to HOVRS, PIWI, (DRDP) and CLASS data (looking for progress in particular domains and dimensions). This data will be shared with the Training and Professional Development Manager and Education Manager to identify areas of continuous quality improvement in the area of Training and Professional Development.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
