General Summary:
Under the general supervision of the Business & Community Development Manager, CCRC'sFund Developer( Business Developer) creates and implements a strategic approach to fundraising to generate unrestricted monetary donations. The Developer cultivates and manages major gifts, corporate donations, grant solicitation, volunteerism, and in-kind resources.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Plans, develops and implements strategies for donor development and cultivation providing a diverse and sustainable unrestricted funding base. 40%
Creates an annual plan which includes, but is not limited to, major donor cultivation and solicitation, campaign and appeal mailings, fundraising events, grant research and writing.
Manage an individual portfolio of donors and prospects to ensure regular communication and active engagement. Emphasis on maintaining or increasing renewal rate of assigned portfolio.
Manage the organization's annual grants calendar, including submission of applications and reports as required. Prepare Letters of Inquiry (LOIs) and proposals to government, corporate, and private funders.
Understands and adheres to charity fundraising laws and codes of practice.
Build and sustain working relationships and communication with donors, individuals, community and business leaders, associations, early education advocates and coalitions, lenders, grant funders, and other organizations and institutions. 15%
Grows CCRC's Volunteer Program including opportunities for community members and businesses. 15%
In conjunction with Communications staff, develops, produces, and manages timely and effective multimedia (print, direct mail, online, etc.) fundraising campaigns and events, and all supporting materials. 15%
Keeps accurate and timely donor records and reports utilizing donor management system. 10%
Requirements to be successful in this job:
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations or related field preferred; or three+ years relevant development experience.
Ability to motivate, inspire and cultivate cooperative relationships with the public, business community, clients and co-workers.
Proven ability to build relationships and operate effectively within a team; strong collaborative skills across interdisciplinary teams.
Track record of initiative, creativity, and self-motivation.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, environment with shifting priorities.
Superb organizational skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills. Meticulous attention to detail and strong proofreading capabilities.
Excellent computer skills (typing 50+ WPM) to include knowledge of online research, web analytics and social media, advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills, and database management experience.
Must have use of an automobile with adequate insurance coverage and a valid California's Driver's License with an acceptable driving record substantiated by a copy of DMV records.
Must be able to lift 25 pounds and have the ability to work non-traditional work schedules, which may include evenings and Saturdays.

We have doubled in size over the past 10 years. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
