Packing and Shipping Clerk

Responsibilities:


Oversee activities within shipping department to ensure highest level of quality and efficiency. Support warehouse operations by handling outgoing shipments and checking the contents of packages against customer orders. Arrange shipments for customers both Domestic and International.


Duties:



  • Pick items as delivered to packing areas using ERP system. Ensure that picked items are in good working condition by visually examination. Report any damaged items to supervisor.


  • Verify accuracy of the order according to ERP system and product.


  • Ensure that items are packed in a safe manner with proper packing materials per instructions; package all orders ensuring completeness.


  • Confirm packed cartons are sealed and labeled appropriately.


  • Prepare and print shipping labels corresponding to shipping needs. Ensure that all accompanying documentation is present with packed items.


  • Affix proper postage to each package in preparation for shipping.


  • Contact carriers and schedule shipping for each package


  • Ensure that products processed for shipping are delegated to correct courier.


  • Enter orders, shipment information and update status in ERP system.


  • Ensure that all work areas are clean and maintained at all times.


  • Maintain and organize adequate shipping supplies.


  • Perform both preventative and general maintenance on equipment and tools used to handle packing and shipments.


  • Maintain a safe work environment.


  • Represent Omron in a professional, ethical, and socially responsible manner.


  • Perform all other duties as assigned and required.


Education & Experience:



  • High school diploma or GED.


  • 1+ years shipping experience.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:



  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.


  • Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work assignments.


  • Basic computer skills.


  • Basic knowledge of ERP system and processing through computer.


  • Ability to read and understand electronic components, such as values, polarities and markings.


  • UPS Worldship/FedEx Systems.

While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is often required to walk, stoop and reach as well as picking/pinching with fingers using repetitive motions. The employee is occasionally required to talk, and hear at normal speaking levels, as well as stand, push, lift and feel with outer extremities and hands. On rare occasions the position requires, climbing and pulling. This is a medium work position involving a moderate amount of force constantly. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision for extensive visual inspections, computer use and reading. Must be able to lift 30 lbs, occasionally up to 50 lbs.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. The position is subject to hazards such as proximity to moving mechanical parts and chemicals. It is exposed to inside environmental conditions.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
